But John Moses Browning first patented the gun April 20, 1897. One hundred and fifteen years later, it is still one of the best and most popular handguns available, being produced by a number of manufacturers. John Browning was born and had his first shop in Morgan Utah, about fifty miles north of where I live.
The Browning Arms Company is still located in Morgan and is a continuing supporter of the John M Browning Firearms Museum housed in the Union Station in nearby Ogden. It is amazing what John Browning invented. Truly a legend in the firearms industry.
